RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

Sorry this is no comparision to the dotcom bubble. Stocks across the board and abroad are collapsing. The dot com bubble affected one sector of the economy and anyone caught up in it was greedy.

RE: Welding

All I have is a 110volt Hobart Wire feed mig welder.........I've contemplated buying a 220V machine but for what I use a welder for the 110V is adequate........ I've made some really nice projects with the 110V machine........ If I was to start over.........I'd buy this dual voltage machine.......a 110V/220V machine by Miller.....Miller DVII almost bought the Miller DVI a few weeks ago. But my 110 v Lincoln works way to good to give me an excuse. BTW a good 110 welder will do 5/16" thick material in one pass

RE: Welding

I taught myself arc welding at a company I used to work at. Needed something welded and went over to the welder and practiced. Have not done arc welding in 20 years. But I have a mig welder and I use it with an argon mix gas. Works great and all it takes is practice

RE: OJ found guilty

sheeesh some folks are over thinking this case. The evidence was there to convict in this case. They had OJ in the room, they had guns in the room, they had OJ wanting his stuff back, no one else in the room had any stuff there The guy was guilty. I could care less if the jurors daughter was victimized by oj, there was enough evidence there to convict. There are too many folks out there that need to swallow bandaids

RE: OJ found guilty

What makes him not guilty? Pretty clear to me, he was the only one trying to "get back" his goods, none of the men with him were trying to get back theirs. They had no reason to be there except to help OJ. So if OJ brought them along and whether he told them to or not to bring guns it is still his fault. He never should have been there and he never should have brought others. How much more obvious does it need to be?

Investment ideas

LIQUID ASSETS: If you purchased a $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you will have $49.00 today. If you purchased a $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you will have $33.00 today. If you purchased a $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you will have $0.00 today. But, if you purchased a $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund; you would have received a $214.00. So, based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle...it's called the 401-Keg.

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

Anyone with any economic sense would have seen this coming. You can't loan 120 % to someone with 0 down. The minute someone sneezed in the house they would walk away.

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

Problem with some folks opinions is that one month ago those same posters claimed that the economy was grand.

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

We had those rules but they were taken out by deregulation which started this mess we are in. Had we kept the regulations intact we never would have been lending to everyone whether they were able to afford it or not

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

The market won't simply be housing is right. Guess what, every day this goes on companies are closing, for every company that closes people are out of a job. This situation truly sucks but we need to do this bailout. We also need to make certain the money is all accounted for with oversight and CEO pay and benes kept to a minimum

RE: Is today a good day to buy Fannie and Freddie

I converted 75% of my holdings to cash 6 months ago and folks here laughed at me. I am not ready to go back even though some talking heads are advising it
